Bali Photos

Our house came with breakfast served each morning
It was nice waking to the singing birds and fresh fruit.
The neighbor's dog was a great friend
who seemed to follow the bacon smell into our house.
Bella enjoyed our visitor.
The pool was placed within the gardens and
cool and refreshing to jump in.
The fish pond and Buddhist sanctuaries placed around the grounds were calming.
Loving life in our Bali haven

Where can I find a motor bike for hire?
Chilling at the cafe with the beach across the street.
Beach views
Side streets
The communal offerings all over Bali are a unique part of the island's lifestyle.
Sunset walks with the waves crashing,
enjoying the water and sand.
The wind was perfect for kites,
especially the boat shaped kites floating above.
Happy hour on cushions set up on the beach.

The clouds were drifting through on the mountain sides
creating a surreal effect.

And you thought your trunk was crowded?

The girls with the monkeys
The baby monkey was incredibly cute
Showing empty hands tells the monkeys you are not there to feed them.

Somehow the day got more beautiful
The rainbow came near sunset as we waited for a traditional dance
Rosie is over the rainbow
The rocky coast was a nice sunset view
The dances started after sun down
The actors with masks really put on a show
The girls got to pose with the cast
They even learned some moves

The Biking Trip

The Leipold clan and Cat-Egan caravan, a boat ride to Pulau Ubin in Singapore.

The trees growing in the water
The kids on the shore in town.
3 of the 4 Leipold kids made the trip as Oscar had another play date.
"Bicycle, bicycle..."
"I want to ride my bicycle."
Alexa and Rosie survey the tandems.
Bella on a test drive.
Thankfully, no one required "bicycle surgery."
Alexa, the navigator!
Midway through the ride, some boars ran out into the road.
Maya and Rosie atop the lookout tower

The kids pondering the view
The boys, um, middle aged men.
Soaking up the green was a big part of the trip for this desert dweller
The kids on the path through the jungle (metaphor?)
Soggy roots
The tide goes under the boardwalk as you wander through the mangroves
A tree appearing to grow out of the ocean
Rosie and Maya walking ahead...
and further ahead
The older girls enjoyed their conversation,
and spotted fish under the bridge

Rolling down hill through the jungle
Bikes, bikes
and more bikes

Farewell to Pulau Ubin and back to the city
